No, it's a 2nd generation piston seals!!
I have it but i can't compare.

Look HERE

We have developed the NEXT GENERATION piston seals for the Range Rover EAS Air Compressor Pump. You can now easily repair your EAS Compressor instead of completely replace it with a new one (like Land Rover advises). Save a lot of money with this repair!

On the development of this product, we just went a little bit further than the 1st generation rings. This 2nd generation Teflon ring has been developed out of the best products and has been tested on duration, temperature and wear. This is the 2nd generation of Range Rover EAS compressor pump piston seals!!

This Piston Seal Fits P38 MKII Range Rovers 1994-2002, 4.0SE, 4.6HSE, 2.5TDi, 2.5DT & 2.5DSE vehicles fitted with EAS (also Classic Range Rovers with Air Suspension).

Check http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetail ... build.html for more information on HOW TO replace this EAS compressor seal. This replacement can easily be done by yourself. Estimated time is about 1 to 2 hours.

Items will be sent out to you after payment is received. We always leave feedback to buyers. Please contact us via e-mail at xxxxx@xxxxxxxxx

Wordlwide shipment for this item is only £ 3,00.

** EXTRA INFO ** EXTRA INFO **

A lot of Land Rover enthusiastics asked me what the difference is with the First Generation Teflon rings...

Besides of the product; Teflon, our rings also include Glas Fiber. This new material gives the ring in the EAS compressor / pump;

Less wear,
better tight fit,
better Mechanical behavior,
and you can use these rings to a max. temperature of 260 °C

I have one tip I'd like to share on the replacement of the seal. I had an incredibly difficult time getting the compression ring off of the piston. I tried a stiff metal putty knife (as in Shupack's pictures) as well as sharp screwdrivers and such. I could not get into the gap between the ring and the ring and piston.
Then I had the idea to use the tubing cutter that I ordered (http://www.rover-renovations.com/Tubing ... /vf-32.htm). The knife blade is sharp enough to cut through the seal and get into the gap. But the best part is that the curved end of the tool takes exactly to the shape of the piston allowing you to grip and hold the blade in one hand while spinning the piston inside the tool with your other hand. Better than that, once you get it into the gap, the blade is strong enough to all you to twist your wrist slightly and it will pry the ring off. You just keep spinning the piston and torquing the tool and it comes off in seconds with no damage to the ring at all.

Just get the piston in a complete assembly, saves time and aggrevation... :thumb:

Hi Guys!!

I just want to share that in #9 operation the Wrench 3 was too small and 3.5 too big.

Buy a 1/8
(Uk/Usa units). UK car: UK tools....

The Wrench 3 will damage the head screw

Just my 5 cents :)

Has anybody had the whole head off? My Allen key has broken with the head in the screw; the one inside on the crank!

not sure what you mean by "whole head" the cylinder head has to come off to get to the seal.

Any machine-shop should be able to remove the broken key (and probably the allen screw as well)

Not so easy; I could do it myself normally but the broken key is in the inner Allen screw on the crank and the housing (head) around it is still in place so I can't clamp the crank itself as it is all surrounded by another aluminum casing.
I only had ball head Allen keys (normally brilliant) but as the short end was not long enough the neck to the ball gave at the thinnest point.
