2010 Owner's Handbook is Online

Postby one20 » Tue Apr 21, 2009 12:09 am

Alright, I'll admit it - I got curious and went to the Land Rover Owner's Info website to see if they'd updated the site with the model year 2010 handbook. Lo and behold, it's there!

I read over some of the pages to see what's new, what's been changed, etc., and everything I remember hearing from the NYIAS (dual-view touchscreen aside, of course) looks to be on the up and up! The new "smart key", as they call it, is an interesting little piece of kit, as is the newfangled instrument display. I'm not sure if it's been available in recent years, but I did notice that global closing is now doable, and I remember that being a commonly requested feature - looks like LR was listening!

I haven't had a chance to glance over any of the changes regarding the new nav or audio system, but I'm not thinking anything too surprising will show up!

It's all interesting stuff, but you don't have to take my word for it  - head on over to http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com and take a look for yourself!

Thanks!

Maybe they took it down now it shows no documents available when you click on the 2010 year. :-(

WOW! They sure did... I can only say I'm half surprised, though...

Good thing I downloaded it when I got the chance! I'll upload 'em in a little while so you can download 'em.

Thanks!

Thanks for catching the unauthorized preview and saving it! :thumb:

Undoubtedly those are ROW or UK manuals, as far as I know the dual vision touchscreen will not be offered to North America (DOT still hasn't approved the technology here), and I doubt that DAB radio reception will translate to digital broadcast reception here in the US, but we'll see. Still, lots of cool new gizmos to play with!

I couldn't find a satnav operation section, I really wanted to check out how improved the interface and graphics were now that they are going with a hard drive system instead of a DVD. Am I missing it?

Okay, I guess I was feeling a bit more motivated than I thought I'd be... I've uploaded it as a .zip file to the message board, but if that doesn't work (I've never tried doing that before! ), you can download it by following the link below!

Enjoy!

I can't say whether or not the manual I've got is US-specific, but some of the fine print reads, "The information contained in this handbook covers all vehicle derivatives and optional equipment", so I'm inclined to agree with you in that it's something global. (Quick question though - what's "ROW"?)

If you want me to be quite honest, when I saw the handbook there, I got a wee-bit excited and completely forgot to check for navigation system documentation, off-road information, etc... What I do have includes information regarding the audio system, the (updated?) voice control system, and the telephone system.

I hope that's enough to keep us occupied!

Thanks!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
:D :D

2 Sad things 1 about me, and the second is probably about me.
The first thing is that I have read the manual 3 times by now (downloaded it last night)
The Second thing is that I found a typo in one of the images:
On the Tone settings page 263 of the Audio system manual in the image it spells source "sourse" I hope they are not shipping the car with that typo in the navi...

Much appreciated! I don't ever find my way into either of those, but if one should happen to come my way, I'll make sure to pay it some attention!

Don't feel a bit bad - I've both read through the manual AND I happened to see the same typo.

Worst part? I'm almost positive it wasn't the only one I noticed! I really can't say I'm too, terribly surprised, though. Funny enough, I had precisely the same thought about the car being shipped with said typo... It took me down a long, dark path of how/when the information for the handbooks is obtained and whether or not there's time to fix a little thing like that before the cars reach customers.

Truth is, it could also be attributed to a regional difference in spelling (think: "color" vs. "colour", "tires" vs. "tyres", etc.). Considering that these handbooks are probably written up overseas and distributed globally, it's not inconceivable...

Thanks!

Thats true, I hope that it's just a regional thing, not something more serious, like a 70-90k car with a TYPO on the brand new navi screen  . but if so, I'm sure that a software update will correct the problem.
